    학생들의 공부에 조금이라도 도움이 되는 교재를 만들고자 의기투합한 이후 여러 목적을 아우르는 한 권의 좋은 책을 만드는 과정에서 벌써 개정판을 내게 되었다. 저자들이 본 교재를 집필하면서 중점을 둔 사항은, 첫째, 교육방법 및 교육공학 과목을 더 쉽게 가르치고 배울 수 있는 데 도움이 되는 교재를 만드는 것, 둘째, 학생들이 이 한권의 책으로 충분히 본 과목의 임용을 준비할 수
    있도록 하는 것, 셋째, 학생들이 교육학 공부의 기초를 다질 수 있는 교재를 만드는 것이었다.
    학생들이 본 교재로 교육방법 및 교육공학 영역을 충분히 공부할 수 있도록 하기 위해, 지난 임용고사 기출 문제들을 분석하고, 기존의 교재들과 중등교사 임용시험 공청회자료집, 관련학회의 주요 이슈를 도출하여, 주요 주제를 빠짐없이 반영할 수 있도록 하였다. 한편, 저자마다 다소 상이한 용어로 제시되어 온 학습이론, 교수이론, 교수설계이론, 교수체제설계이론, 교수체제개발이론 등의 용어를 체계화하여 제시하였다. 특히 학습이론과 교수설계이론 영역을 강화하였는데, 이는 임용을 준비하며 이 부분이 어렵다고 호소하는 학생들의 의견을 충분히 반영하고자 한 것이다.
    교육학 분야 임용을 준비하면서 학생들은 각각의 교직과목들을 분리하여 학습하는 경향이 있다. 그러나 교직과목들은 매우 유관하게 연관되어 있어 한 과목을 깊이 있게 체계적으로 공부하면 다른 교직과목을 공부하는 것이 훨씬 수월해진다. 이러한 점을 돕기 위해 본 교재에서는 용어와 인물 참고를 강화하여 페이지 우측에 해당 용어를 제시하고, 각 장의 마지막에 제시 순서에 따라 참고내용을 정리하였다. 각 장을 공부하며 그때마다 용어와 인물을 정리하며 공부하면 교육학 분야에 대한 기초능력이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대한다. 또한 교직과목 이수와 임용을 별개로 준비하지 않고 교직과목을 충실하게 공부하면 절로 임용 준비의 기초 능력이 양성될 수 있도록 돕기 위하여, 주제에 해당하는 기출문제를 중간에 제시하였다. 주제들이 어떠한 방식으로 출제되는지를 이해하며 공부해야 임용 준비의 전략을 세울 수 있으므로 학생들은 반드시 기출을 점검하면서 학습해주기 바란다. 기출에는 년도가 기입되어 있으므로 해당 주제가 얼마나 빈번하게 출제되는지, 기출의 경향이 어떻게 변화하는지 파악할 수 있을 것이다.
