이 책은 대학에서 교양으로 강의하고 있는 ‘예비부모교육’ 과목을 위하여 집필하였다. 모든 예비부모들이 ‘예비부모교육’을 필수로 이수함으로써 바람직한 배우자 선택, 결혼, 태교, 출산, 자녀양육 등에 대한 지혜로운 철학, 정통한 지식, 실제적인 기술을 적용하여 건강하고 잠재력이 풍부한 자녀를 출산하도록 기대한다. 또한 그 아이를 사랑으로 잘 길러냄으로써 희망으로 가득한 행복한 가정과 아름다운 사회가 이루어지기를 기원한다.
