도서소개
이 세상에 수많은 고전이 있지만, 《삼국지연의》만큼 인간의 본질과 사상을 탐구하는 데 필요한 요소, 즉 흔히들 이야기하는 인문학적 요소들을 쉽고 재미있게 기술한 고전 소설도 드물다고 생각한다. 반면에 역사를 윤색하기보다 정사(正史)의 기록에 충실하고자 했던 《정사 삼국지》를 재밌게 읽고 푹 빠졌다는 사람에 대해서는 거의 들어보질 못했다. 《삼국지연의》로 후한 삼국의 역사를 대중에게 널리 보급한 나관중의 공로가 적지 않다고 하겠다. 그가 쓴 이 대중적인 역사 소설 덕분에 우리는 당시 수많은 등장인물(군주, 신하, 장수, 참모, 병사, 백성 등)의 생각과 행동을 통해 인간의 본질과 사상을 이해하며 사고의 폭을 넓힐 수 있게 되었다.

저자소개
염철현
고려대학교 교육학과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 교육행정 및 교육법 전공으로 박사학위를 취득하고, 현재 고려사이버대학교(www.cuk.edu) 인재개발학부 교수로 재직하고 있다.
가르치는 자는 ‘먼저 읽는 자(first reader)’라는 신념으로 다양한 분야의 독서를 하고 이를 자신의 성찰로 연결시키려는 노력을 하고 있다.
