    도서소개

    나의 연구의 주축은 “너 자신을 알라”는 이 한마디에 대한 나의 생각과 관심으로부터 출발하고 있다. 나의 연구주제를 말하려면 ‘정체감’과 ‘교육’이란 두 키워드로 집약된다. 특별한 경우는 제외하고 나는 논문을 준비하는 데 기본적 연구의 주제는 이 두 키워드로 설명할 수 있다. 이 두 단어가 나의 연구의 출발점이고 귀착점이었다.
    이 책은 앞의 두 키워드로 작성된 대표적인 논문들을 간추려 편집된 논문집이다. 나의 연구논문이 우리 학계에 얼마나 공헌을 하였는지는 나 자신이 실제로 회의를 느끼고 있는 것도 사실이지만, 이 방면에 대한 후학들의 연구에 조금이나마 도움이 된다면 하는 바람에서 주제넘게 출발하였다.
    이 책의 제1부 “정체감 이론”에서는 정체감 그 자체가 갖는 의미에 관한 연구논문들로, 정체감이 특히, 청소년, 청년들의 심리발달에 어떠한 의미를 주는 것인지, 그리고 우리들이 자기 자신의 삶의 위치를 탐색하는 과정을 살펴본 논문들을 중심으로 구성하였다.
    제2부 “교육의 실제”, 여기에서는 우리 청소년, 청년들의 구체적인 교육현장에서 정체감이 어떤 의미를 갖는지 또는 정체감의 발달이 그들의 심리발달에 어떠한 영향과 의미를 시사해 주고 있는지, 그리고 우리들의 청소년, 청년들이 건전한 정체감을 확립하기 위해서는 어떠한 교육을 제시해야 할 것을 시도한 논문들로 이루어져 있다. 정체감 이론에 근거를 둔 교육의 기본에 대한 내 견해를 밝힌 논문들이다.
