‘교육방법 및 공학’은 ‘어떻게 하면 잘 가르칠 수 있는가? 어떻게 하면 효과적으로, 효율적으로, 매력적으로 가르칠 수 있는가?’에 대한 주제를 다루고 있는 교직 과목이다. 본 교재에서는 예비교사들이 자신의 역량을 키울 수 있도록, 교육방법과 공학에 대한 이론을 가급적 쉽게 풀어서 설명하였고, 현장에서 바로 접목하여 사용할 수 있도록 구체적인 방법과 절차들을 제시하였다.
특히 빠르게 변화하고 있는 교육 현실을 반영하여 최근에 대두되고 있는 교수·학습 방법들 중에서 액션 러닝, 플립드 러닝, 하브루타, 스토리텔링, K-MOOC 등을 안내하였고, 교수·학습활동의 전개와 관련하여 학습자들의 이해도를 높이기 위해 가능한 많은 표와 그림을 제시하면서 교육적 의사소통을 극대화하고자 하였다.
