포토보이스는 참여자를 연구의 주체로 인식한다. 참여자를 연구의 중심에 두는 것은 그들에게 더 많은 의사결정 권한을 제공하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 접근은 연구 참여자의 위상을 높이는 데 기여하고, 연구자의 역할 변화를 기대한다. 이 과정에서 연구자는 참여자와 함께 지식을 생성하는 협력자 및 촉진자 역할을 수행하게 된다.

저자소개
연구하는 삶을 살고 있습니다. 일상의 다채로운 경험을 연구 텍스트로 전환하는 질적 연구를 수행해 왔습니다. 경험에서 연구 주제를 발견하고, 일상을 기록하며, 관련 문헌을 찾아 공부하여 그동안 38편의 논문을 발표하였습니다. 수업, 수업컨설팅, 질적 연구 등과 관련된 학술도서도 출판하였습니다. 그중 2017년에 출판한 「교사 전문성과 수업: 질적 연구를 통한 실천적 접근」은 세종학술도서로 선정되었습니다. 지금도 우리의 경험 속에 내재된 의미를 발견하고 교육활동을 연구화하는 현장 연구자로서 학문적 정체성을 만들어가고 있습니다.
